Locate the logic board. Employ a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the logic board in place. Gently raise the logic board out of the device.

Step 6: Remove the Battery

Removing Your Private Information Once you have backed up your data, it is moment to erase your personal data off the iPhone 4s. Doing so will make sure that your private data is erased off the device and can’t be accessed by others.

Locate the SIM card tray on the right side of the iPhone 4s. Insert a paper clip or SIM ejector tool into the small hole next to the tray. Push the tool into the hole until the tray pops out. Remove the SIM card tray. Open into Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup

Locate the connectors that connect the screen to the logic board. Use a plastic spudger to gently pry the connectors loose.
