The Ascent and Decline of “Good Girls”: A Look Backward at the 2018 TV Program In 2018, NBC launched a novel drama program titled “Good Girls,” which tracked the existences of three suburban parents who, weary of their boring lives, resolve to start a lucrative business vending pharmaceuticals on the black market. The series, developed by Justin Spitzer and made by Universal Television, had a promising premise and a skilled cast, but sadly, it was not intended to be. Despite its promise, “Good Girls” was cancelled after merely one season, abandoning fans asking what might have been. The Premise “Good Girls” turned around the lives of three companions, Beth Boland (Christine Baranski), Annie Walker (Anna Maxwell Martin), and Jenna St. John (Mila Shin), who were all feeling unfulfilled and uneasy in their lives. Beth, a previous pharmaceutical sales representative, had forfeited her job and was battling to get ends meet. The Cast
The Ensemble The cast of “Good Girls” was clearly one of its strongest qualities. Christine Baranski, famous for her roles in “Cybill” and “The Good Wife,” brought a level of elegance and allure to the role of Beth Boland. Anna Maxwell Martin, who had formerly appeared in “The Big Short” and “Fargo,” added a sense of softness and warmth to Annie Walker.
