Pacific Rim: Uprising is a new futuristic monster film directed by Steven S. DeKnight and scripted by Travis Beacham, DeKnight, and Emily Travis. The feature is the next chapter to the 2013 film Pacific Rim, and the 3rd entry in the Pacific Rim series. The narrative takes place ten years after the happenings of the first picture. The world has rebuilt and is now a more tranquil location, with the Jaegers, colossal humanoid mechs operated by two human drivers, having preserved mankind from the Kaiju, terrifying creatures that surface from a portal beneath the Pacific Ocean. However, a new danger appears in the form of a group of outlaw Jaegers, guided by a former pilot dubbed Raleigh Becket’s (Charlie Hunnam) kin, Lambert (Ricky Gervais).

The movie showcases a selection of new characters, including Dr. Newton Geiszler, a bright but awkward boffin who helps the team understand the new menace, and Amara, a skilled combat master who becomes a priceless ally.
